Lois Harriet Eaton
1916 - 2003
FRANKLIN - Lois Harriet Eaton, age 87, passed away Saturday September 20, 2003 at Haven Health Center Nursing Home in St. Albans.

She was born May 9, 1916 in St. Johnsbury the daughter of the late Harry Charles & Bernice Angeline (Colby) Hodgkins.

She was a resident of Franklin for the past 3 years and had also camped during the summers at Lake Carmi for 50 years. She was a 1935 graduate of Montpelier High School, a 1939 graduate with a BA in music from Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, OH. She then taught music at Peoples Academy in Morrisville for 3 years followed by many years of substitute teaching in Linwood, NJ, Ithaca, NY, and Fairbanks, AK. She had been active in working with foreign students wives at Cornell University and was also a member of the Cornell Glee Club. While living in Ithaca she was a member of the Choir at the 1st Congregational Church.

She is survived by her husband, Edward O. Eaton of Franklin, Lois & Edward were married May 15, 1942; 2 sons and their wives, Edward H. & Marie Eaton of Williamstown, and Paul D. & Barbara Eaton of So. Amherst, OH; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; a sister and her husband, Lisle & Richard Lewis of Trumbull, CT; 3 nieces and 1 nephew.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday September 24, 2003 at 2:00 PM at the Franklin Homestead FELCO Room, 114 Homestead Dr., Franklin with Rev. Paul Eaton officiating. There will be no visiting hours.
