WEST COLUMBIA Services for Lucretia C. Abraham, 89, of West Columbia, will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2008, at Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Paul Rogers. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Memorials may be made to Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church, 3050 Leaphart Rd, West Columbia, SC 29169 or to the charity of one’s choice.
Mrs. Abraham, widow of David J. Abraham, died Tuesday, April 15, 2008. Born in North Augusta, SC, she was the daughter of the late James J. Couch and Beulah Ergle Couch. She was a member of Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church where she belonged to the Mima Senn-Loyal Workers-Men’s Bible Sunday School Class and the Bee Bobo Circle. Mrs. Abraham had retired from Richland School District One where she taught Special Needs students.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother who was known as “Bee” to her grandchildren and special friends. She enjoyed bird watching, reading, needlework, and crossword puzzles.
Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Margie and Ray Adkins of West Columbia, Bonnie and Wayne Hall of Leesville; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Becky Abraham of Pomaria, and son-in-law, Hank Sizemore of Fort Mill; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Adkins of York, Jeffrey Adkins of Lexington, Tad (Glynnis) Abraham of Pomaria, Jesse Hall of Leesville, Kristen (Jason) Eargle of Lawrenceville, Ga., Marcus Sizemore, and Cliff Sizemore both of Columbia; and sister-in-law, Marjorie Lehmann of Leland, NC.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Jeralyn Sizemore and brothers, Bennett Couch, Jerry Couch and Walter Couch.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Hampton Alford and Joyce Ivey, RN for the care shown throughout the years. A special thank you is also extended to the caring staff of Tri-County Hospice.
