Manuel O. Araujo, 76, of Ingraham Street, Attleboro, a loving husband, brother and uncle, died Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of fifty-one years to Maria R. (Garcia) Araujo.
Born in Candelaria, St. Michael, Azores on April 26, 1931, Manuel was a son of the late Mariano J. and Helena (Oliveira) Araujo. He settled and resided for ten years in North Providence and later resided the past twenty-four years in Attleboro.
Mr. Araujo was employed as a polisher at the Robbins Company in Attleboro for many years until retiring. A communicant of Holy Ghost Church in Attleboro, Manuel enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.
In addition to his beloved wife, Maria, Manuel is survived by a brother: Mariano Alberto Araujo of No. Attleboro; two sisters: Ludovina Silva of St. Michael, Azores and Maria Helena Oliveira of Mansfield; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, November 18, 2007 from 4 PM Ė 8 PM in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. A funeral will be conducted on Monday, November 19, 2007 at 9 AM from the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Holy Ghost Church, 71 Linden Street, Attleboro celebrated by the Rev. John Raposo, Pastor.
