Maria de Lourdes (Furtado) Furtado, 84, of Swansea, MA, formerly of Fall River, died Tuesday at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford. She was the wife of the late Manuel C. Furtado.
Born in Maia, St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Augusto da Costa Valerio and Maria de Merces Furtado, she resided in Swansea for the past 8 years.
Mrs. Furtado was a homemaker. She was a member of Santo Christo Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jose (Maria) Lindo of St. Michael, Azores and Mrs. Gabriel (Ilda) Camara of North Dartmouth, MA; a son, Jose A. Furtado and his wife Teresa of Swansea, MA; three sisters, Isaltina Bento and Jorgina Lindo, both of Kingston Ontario, Canada and Hilda Valerio of Swansea, MA; a brother, Francisco Furtado da Costa of Hull, Quebec; five grandsons, Jeffrey Camara, Michael Camara, Brian Camara, Kevin and Kyle Furtado; two Great-grandchildren, Lindsey and Derrick Camara; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 7:30 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 8:30 a.m. in the Santo Christo Church. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 5 - 9 p.m.
