Mary G. Aune, longtime resident of Harrison Township, died peacefully Saturday afternoon, August 11, 2007, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 87 years of age.
Mary was born on January 12, 1920 in Detroit, daughter of the late John and Anna (Doran) Foster. She was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Orville, on June 5, 1943 in St. Rose Catholic Church, Detroit. The couple made their home in Harrison Township in 1957. Mary was an avid reader and was known for her baking and singing abilities. She was a member of the VFW Menge Post 6756 and an active member of the American Lutheran Church of Clinton Twp. where she was awarded the American Lutheran Woman of the Year. During WWII, Mary served her country as a secretary. She was a loving and devoted mother with unconditional Love to her three sons. She will be deeply missed by the many she has touched in her lifetime.
Mary is survived by her loving sons, Steven, Kenneth (Karen), and Allan (Sandra); cherished 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; and her dear brother, James Foster. She was preceded in death by her beloved Orville in 2004.
A memorial service will be held at the American Lutheran Church, 38795 Mulberry, Clinton Twp., Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at 7pm. Memorial contributions to the church appreciated.
