MONTGOMERY CENTER – Michael Scott Bindler, age 46, passed away after a brief illness on Monday afternoon December 13, 2004 at Haven Health Care Facility in St. Albans.
He was born in Freehold, NJ on March 22, 1958 the son of Lawrence & Natalie (Beagal) Bindler.
Michael was raised and educated in the Freehold area, and graduated with a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Miami Dade University. After college he returned to New Jersey where he entered into his fathers’ dry cleaning business and eventually opened 13 more stores with his sister Lori. Michael’s love for cooking made him re-think his profession and he began studying to be a chef and had the opportunity to train under some exceptional chef’s. He then proceeded to open his own restaurant in 1988 called “Ain’t Just Chicken” located in Marlboro, NJ. In 1992 he and his partner, Glen moved to Montgomery Ctr., VT where they owned and operated Phineas Swann Bed & Breakfast for the past 13 years.
He is survived by his soul mate, Glen Bartolomeo of Montgomery Center; his parents, Lawrence & Natalie Bindler of Jackson, NJ; two sisters, Robin Cuneo of Freehold, NJ, and Lori Bindler of Bay Head, NJ; one niece, Ashley Cuneo; one nephew, Ryan Cuneo both of Freehold, NJ; and many dear friends in Montgomery and the surrounding area.
In keeping with Michael’s wishes he will be cremated and a memorial service will be announced at a later date to be held next spring in Montgomery. There will be no visiting hours.
