Millie Ahaesy Obituary

1918 - 2008
Ahaesy “Millie”, in her 90th year, of Tiverton, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on April 5, 2008. She was the loving wife of the late Edward V. Ahaesy. Born in Tiverton, RI on April 25, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Emily (Braga) and John Farias. She lived in Tiverton her whole life. Mrs. Ahaesy is survived by her loving daughter Brenda J. Valcourt and her husband Robert, her grandsons Keith and his wife Marivi OF Sherman Oaks, CA, Brandt and his wife Shannon of Spokane, WA and Todd and his Fiancee, Morag MacPherson of North Hollywood, CA and 2 greatgrandchildren, Audrey Paris Valcourt and Nigel Bishop Valcourt. She is also survived by her brother George Farias and sisters Helen Langevin, of Florida, Rosie Soares of Tiverton and Hilda Medeirous of AZ and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Arthur Farias, Joseph Farias, Manuel Farias, Bella Thorpe and the companion of the late Lester Reed. She was a former member of the Woodrow VFW Post Ladies Auxillary, The Tiverton Senior Center Group and the Tiverton Fire Dept Ladies Auxillary and a lifelong parishioner of Holy Ghost Church of Tiverton. Millie was an accomplished seamstress and made her daughters wedding gown and worked mny years for Holly and Bedford Manufacturing of Fall River, MA. She enjoyed family, crocheting, going dancing, sightseeing and in later years playing penny slot machines. Funeral Arrangements are being handled by the POCASSET MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME 462 Main Rd Tiverton. Calling hours are SUNDAY 5-8PM Funeral will be held MONDAY at 8am from the Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial and celebration of her giving life at 9am at Holy Ghost Church, Tiverton, RI. In lieu of flowers donations are asked for the Visiting Nurse Service of Newport and Bristol Counties (Hospice) or RI Lions Children Cancer Foundation.
