ADAMS, Nelda Flournoy, 96, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord June 4, 2011. She was born to the late Samuel and Jenny Flournoy in Richmond, and graduated John Marshall High School. Nelda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred Adams. She is survived by two brothers, Norman Flournoy of Brisbane, Australia, and Charles Flournoy of Richmond; daughters, Page Adams Carver of Atlanta, Georgia, and Jane Gayle Adams of Cartersville, Virginia; two sons, John Frederick Adams of Jacksonville, Florida, and Craig Flournoy Adams of Virginia Beach, Virginia; grandchildren, Stephanie Trimble and Scott Carver of Atlanta, Georgia, Troy Carver of Nashville, Tennessee, Jeff Adams and Megan Ritter of Richmond, Zoe Adams of Virginia Beach, Mark Adams, Kevin Adams and Nancy Kelley of Jacksonville, Florida, John Adams of Raleigh, North Carolina, Jennifer Clayton, Kent Clayton and Chris Clayton of Cartersville, Virginia; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the nursing and hospice staff at St. Francis Hospital in Midlothian for the outstanding compassionate medical care. Her remains rest at the Parham Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Road, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday (today), and where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, followed by interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
