Pattie R. Baird, longtime resident of Warren, died peacefully Wednesday afternoon surrounded by the love of her family in Bi-County Hospital. She was 84 years of age.
Pattie was born on May 1, 1921 in Lebanon, Tennessee, daughter of the late Howell Layne and Ruby (Russell) Williams. She was united in marriage to her loving husband, Arthur, on February 29, 1940 in Angola, Indiana. The couple made their home in St. Clair Shores until moving to Warren in 1965. Pattie was a nurse for Kirby Convalescent Home in Royal Oak for many years, retiring in 1968. She enjoyed sewing and watching skating. Pattie was a generous and caring lady who always had a helping hand. Above all, she loved and cherished her daughters and grandchildren. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by the many she has touched in her lifetime.
Pattie is survived by her husband of 65 years, Arthur; dearest daughters, Bonnie Jean (Bill) Barnes, Marcia Ann (Donald) Hiruo, Brenda Gayle White, and Kathie Marie (Wayne) Gerberding; cherished grandchildren, Tammie, Lori (Kurt), Bill, Michael, Charles (Clare), Eric (Sara), Sarah, an 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, David Joseph.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 6pm until 9pm at Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Rd., Fraser. A Funeral will be held on Saturday in St. John Lutheran Church of Fraser at 11am with additional visitation at 10am. Memorials may be addressed to Henry Ford Hospice.
