Raymond A. Martin, 58, of Enfield died suddenly on Friday Dec. 23, 2005 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.
He was born in Lebanon on June 1, 1947 a son of Robert W. Martin Sr. and Catherine (McCarthy) Martin. A lifelong resident of the Upper Valley, he graduated from Hartford High School class of 1966. He was employed for many years at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Windsor before their closing. He had also worked at Watts Regulator in Canaan. He was known throughout the Upper Valley as a carpenter and his motto was “I work hard, and I play hard.” He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Lebanon and the men’s auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in White River Jct. He enjoyed woodworking and his family.
He is survived by his mother Catherine Martin of White River Jct, His wife Alexandra Martin of Enfield, two sons Richard A. Martin of Enfield and Jeffrey A. Martin of Upper Darby, PA, four sisters Madeline Locke, Martha Barnaby, Louise Lopez , Kathy Martin, six brothers, Robert Martin Jr, Daniel, Thomas, Bruce, Peter, and Barry Martin, five grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Ricker Funeral Home 433 US Route 4 in Enfield on Wednesday Dec. 28th from 7 to 9PM.
