Franklin, NH … Mr. Richard D. Andrews, 66, of Daisy Lane, Franklin, died at Concord Hospital on Oct. 11, 2004.
He was born in Franklin on Sept. 10, 1938, the son of Darrell Andrews and Cecile Rayno Andrews. Mr. Andrews was a graduate of Franklin High School, Class of 1956. He was a lifelong resident of Franklin.
Mr. Andrews entered the US Navy on Aug. 30, 1956. He attained the rank of Airman E-3 and served until Sept. 1959.
As a teenager, he worked at the former Giles Dairy. Following his military service, Mr. Andrews worked as a superintendent of production for Insulfab in Franklin for over 40 years before retiring in April, 2000.
Mr. Andrews was an avid outdoorsman and greatly enjoyed fishing and hunting.. He was a member of Franklin VFW Post 1698 and the Congregational Christian Church in Franklin.
Family members include his wife, Sally (Varney) Andrews of Franklin, his daughter, Mrs. Brian (Beth) Morrill of Franklin, 3 grandchildren, Jacob, Britney, and Joshua, his mother, Cecile Dickinson of Franklin, a brother, Robert Andrews of Fredericksburg, Va., and a nephew.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 15, 2004 at 11:00 am at The NH Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH with Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mr. Andrews may be made to The Payson Center for Cancer Care, c/o Concord Hospital, 250 Pleasant St., Concord, NH 03301.
