Services for Roy T. Anderson, 74, of Tyler, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, at Lloyd James Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Donnie Barron and Ivy Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery.
Mr. Anderson was born in Mt. Enterprise on August 23, 1930 to the late Lovis Anderson, and Effie Worbington Anderson. He was self-employed as an Independent Petroleum Landman, and Independent Timber Contractor. He was stationed in Korea from 1951-1954 in the United States Marines. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He played two years at Panola Junior College on a football scholarship and graduated from North Texas State University with a BA degree. He served on the City Zoning and Planning Commission for seven years.
He is survived by two sons, Steve Anderson and Grant Anderson and wife, Nancy of Tyler; two daughters, Julie Copeland and husband, Carey of Lake Worth, Florida and Carrie Gill and husband, Rocky of Tyler; one sister, Sybil Summerlin of Jasper; six grandchildren, Cara and Curt Copeland, Kellie and Britt Anderson, Hannah and Campbell Gill. His parents, brother, Joe Anderson, and sister, Mary Howes, precede him in death.
Pallbearers are Carl Cunningham, Mike Gollob, Paul Williams, Wally Christianson, Mark Tarver, Scott Kittrell.
