Sandra Beattie Obituary

QUEENSBURY Sandra Maille Beattie, 65, of Pine Street, Queensbury, passed away Saturday morning, Nov. 24, 2007, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born Feb. 13, 1942, in Queensbury, she was the daughter of the late Emmanuel and Gladys (Duell) Maille. After attending Queensbury High School, Sandra devoted her life to raising her children, and helping others. For many years, she worked at various locations as a nurse's aide, such as Eden Park, Fort Hudson, TLC, and also private duty nursing. On Nov. 4, 1988, she married the love of her life, Rolland Beattie, sharing 19 wonderful years together traveling, going to garage sales, and enjoying NASCAR racing, No. 8 Dale Ernhardt being her favorite driver. Besides her parents, one son, Thomas E. Wood, and one brother, Earl E. Maille, have predeceased her. Survivors include her loving husband, Rolland Beattie of Queensbury; four sons: Alan E. Wood and his wife, Barbara, of South Glens Falls, Ronnie L. Stockwell and his wife, Beverly, of Glens Falls, Robert J. Stockwell and his wife, Julie, of Virginia, and Jack Stockwell II of Queensbury; grandchildren: Sarah, Melissa, and Alan Wood Jr. of South Glens Falls, Gabrielle Stockwell of Glens Falls, Tina Marie and Vannessa Stockwell of Virginia, Marcus and Mathew Chester of Nebraska, Beth Ann and Jeremy McFadden of Hudson Falls, Tomi-Jo Wood of Hudson Falls, and many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Sherman of Queensbury; three brothers: Edward Maille of Fort Edward, William Maille of Queensbury, and Harvey Maille of Lady Lake, Fla.; a former daughter-in-law, Pamela Wood Ogden of Hudson Falls; a sister-in-law, Minnie Maille of Queensbury; several aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. At Sandra's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. Friends are invited to join her family for a graveside ceremony, Thursday, Nov. 29, at 11 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Cemetery, with Deacon Bill Bazinet, officiating. A gathering will follow the burial at the home of Ron and Beverly Stockwell, 63 Cooper St., Glens Falls.
