Lillian E. (Normandin) Henner, 85, formerly of 10 Pineland Park, Milton, NH; went to be with her departed loved ones and her Lord on March 20, 2007 at St. Anneís Healthcare Center.
Born on July 15, 1921, in New Bedford, MA; she was the daughter of the late Pierre and Alice (Caswell) Normandin. During her childhood and teen years she lived in New Bedford, MA; as well as Seabrook, NH. She attended Fairhaven High School in Fairhaven, MA; until her senior year when her family lost their home in the hurricane of 1938.
She married her one love, the late Roland J. Henner, Sr. on June 7, 1941 at the Seamanís Bethel in New Bedford, MA. Roland Sr. passed on December 28, 1968. They moved to Milton in 1953. Lillian was a housewife devoting her life to her husband, raising her 3 children and being her fatherís caretaker for 10 years. When she was in her early 60ís she went to work at Milton Community Services as a secretary. She made many friends and helped many people during her time there.
She was a 17 year cancer survivor. She enjoyed traveling and going to Foxwoods.
She is a member of the Community Church of Milton.
She is survived by two children: Richard Henner and his wife Jane of Milton; and daughter Alice Greenleaf and her husband Chris of Rochester; her daughter-in-law Shirley (Henner) Downs and her husband Arthur of Milton; five grandchildren Keith Henner, Robert Henner and his wife Lorene, Tammy Henner, Chrissie Henner, and Todd Henner and his wife Laurie. Twelve great grandchildren: Lorene and her husband Jason, Mary, Tyler, Alex, Brianna, Brandon, Mason, Duston, Dalton, Jared, Christopher and Megan. Two great-great grandchildren : Matthew and Lillian. She is also survived by her sister in laws Claire Geggatt of Acushnet, MA; and Lorraine Booker and her husband Burton of Berkley, MA; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was also predeceased by her son Roland Henner, Jr., and her sister Edna Sylvia.
Family and friends may call Friday March 23, 2007 from 6-8pm at the R.M. Edgerly and Son Funeral Home 86 S. Main St. Rochester, NH.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11am at the Community Church of Milton located on Steeple St.
Burial will take place at the Hayes Cemetery at a later date.
