Alfred Gilbert Duggan, age 83, of Glenwood, died October 20, 2007. He was born at Glenwood on January 25, 1924 to John Duggan and Iva Echols Duggan. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vera Duggan; his son, Ray Duggan; his sister, Alpha Cogburn; and one brother, David Duggan.
He was a United States Army veteran and served during the Korean Conflict. He loved hunting and fishing, and always said, “Just being outdoors, he felt he was in God’s church.”
He is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ricky and Tammy Duggan of Newhope and John Duggan of Glenwood; two daughters and son-in-laws, Janice and Kenneth Cogburn of Glenwood, and Arlene and James Golden of Langley; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Richard and Brenda Duggan of Lodi, and Chester Duggan of Newhope; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Alta Hamill of Chico, California, Alma Matthews of Glenwood, Lotta Love of Norman, and Bonnie and Harlan Pounds of Kirby; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at Lodi Cemetery with Bro. Joe Cogburn and Bro. Tony Cogburn officiating.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 22, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons.
