BRUCE - Earlene Spratlin Barnes, 85, died Monday, July 7, 2003, at Hillcrest Hospital in Calhoun City. She was born April 11, 1918, in Calhoun County to E. Arthur Spratlin and Ester Stewart Spratlin. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Bruce.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce with Dr. Christian Hall officiating. Burial will be in Bruce Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, John Henry Barnes of Bruce; a daughter, Annette Woodson and husband, Jack, of Bruce; three sisters, Lois Young of Grenada, Bonnie Bennett of Bruce and Hortense McKelroy of Bruce; a brother, A.D. Spratlin of Bruce; two grandchildren, Natalie White and husband, Kevin, and Margaret Long and husband, Trent; four great-grandchildren, John Benton, Josh, Hannah and Grace.

Pallbearers will be Ralph Barnes, Roy McDowell, Art Spratlin, John Benton Long, Justin Ware and Robert Ware.
