Laurette L. Allan, 99, formerly of Canton, died Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at Stow Glen Retirement Center.

She was born February 20, 1909, in Montreal, Canada to Elie and Mary Louise (Meloche) Lacombe. She was employed by Timken Roller Bearing Co. She was a former member of St. John's Catholic Church; St. John's Guild; S.O.A.R.; Mayfield Senior Center; Greater Canton Retirees. She was a volunteer for R.S.V.P., Meals on Wheels, and a American Red Cross Gray Lady.

She is survived by her daughter, Claire (Alfred) Rastetter of Kent; daughter-in-law, Patricia Allan of Grapevine, Texas; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; four great great grandsons; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jane and Ed Thomas. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clifford Sloss and Pierre Allan; son, Joseph D. Allan; sister, Ceclile Kauffman Johnson; and brothers, Elie Lacombe, Joseph Lacombe, and Paul Lacombe.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, September 6th at Immaculate Heart of Mary - Newman Center Parish with Fr. Chris Luoni officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the services. Burial will be in Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent. Bissler & Sons Funeral Home are handling the arrangements.
