LeRoy Altmannsberger Obituary

1929 - 2009
LeRoy (Roy) H. Altmannsberger, Jr, 80 , beloved husband of Dolores (Delaware) Altmannsberger of 215 Little Meadow Rd, Guilford, peacefully entered into eternal rest at CT Hospice, Branford on Friday, May 1, 2009. He was born in New Haven on March 27, 1929, son of the late LeRoy and Lillian (Adams) Altmannsberger, Sr.

Roy was a carpenter and painter for many years in the Shoreline area and was well known for his Roy’s Clambake Catering. After his retirement, his summers were spent at their cottage in Northfield, Maine. He cherished the time he spent with his family and he will be remembered for his kindness and generosity to everyone.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his children, Diane Crockett (Bob Cox) of Northfield, ME, Claudia Melillo, and Mark Altmannsberger both of Guilford. He also leaves three grandchildren, Laura (Rob) Blake, Kenny Melillo, and Abby (Todd) Gray, three great grandchildren, Ryley, Keenan, and Allison. He was predeceased by a sister, Lois Sobolewski, and a grandson, Matthew Crockett.

Funeral services will be held at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford on Tues, May 5, at 11am. Burial will follow in Nut Plains Cemetery, Guilford. Friends may call Mon.
