William Carpenter Obituary

1940 - 2000
William E. “Bill” Carpenter, 60, of Pascagoula, Mississippi, a 10-year veteran of the U.S. Navy who received a commendation medal from the Secretary of the Navy in recognition of his heroic efforts in securing a dangerous condition in the afterfire room on board the U.S.S. Little Rock on the evening of December 25, 1964, and an Electrician with Sundowner Offshore Services, Houston, passed away in Mobile, Alabama, on Wednesday, July 12, 2000. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, July 14, 2000, 6 p.m. until time of memorial services at 8 p.m., at Holder-Wells Funeral Home, 4007 Main Street, Moss Point, Mississippi. The family prefers donations to the Leukemia Society of America, 2900 Eisenhower Avenue, Suite 419, Alexandria, VA 22314.
