MONTGOMERY CENTER - Katherine L. Baker, age 34, passed away Wednesday August 20, 2003 surrounded by her loving family at the Vermont Respite House in Williston following a long courageous battle with cancer.

Kathy was born May 15, 1969 in St. Albans the daughter of Margaret (Aston) Sturtevant and the late Ronald Sturtevant.

Kathy was a 1987 graduate of Enosburg Falls High School. Following high school she was employed by Sid Berkson & Phil Gerbode at the Main St. Mall in Enosburg Falls, then as the office manager and real estate agent at Poquette & Bruley Real Estate in St. Albans, and for the past 2 years she was the loan originator at the Lyndonville Savings Bank in Enosburg Falls. She was a member of the Franklin County Board of Realtors, and former treasurer & secretary of the Montgomery Fire Dept..

Kathy enjoyed singing and music, and took great pride of her flower gardens. She will also be remembered by her sense of humor and always having a way of making people feel good and special even during her most difficult of times.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Baker Jr. of Montgomery Ctr.; her cherished children, Jarad & Gavin Baker of Montgomery Center; her mother, Margaret Sturtevant Pudvah of St.Albans; her brother Michael Sturtevant and his fiancee, Lorna Letourneau of Northfield; her sister, Lori Griffin of Richmond and her family; her in-laws, Bill & Denise Baker of Montgomery Ctr.; her brother-in-law, Gary Baker and his son, Wyatt of Montgomery Ctr.; her sister-in-law, Corrine Baker and her children, Jesse & Jenna Bassett of Hyde Park; many special friends and extended family, all of whom have been very loving and supportive through Kathy's illness. She also leaves her dog, Macy. Besides her father, she was predeceased by her loving brother, Richard Pudvah and her step-father, Hollis Pudvah.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 at St. Isidores Catholic Church in Montgomery Center. Interment will follow in the Montgomery Center Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 6-9 at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
