Charles J. Balles, 89, of Manchester, died March 14, 2010 at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown.
Mr. Balles was born in Manchester, December 8, 1920, the son of John C. and Beatrice (Tanguay) Balles. He attended local schools and was a lifelong resident of this city.
He served with the US Army during World War II.
Charlie worked as a foreman for Great State Beverage, Budweiser, for many years prior to his retirement.
He was a communicant of the former St. Patrick’s Church and the Knights of Columbus. He loved all sports and was an avid hunter.
Members of his family include his wife of 64 years, Doris (Gravel) Balles of Manchester, 3 sons: John C. Balles of Manchester, Michael J. Balles of Windham, David A. Balles of Manchester, a daughter; Lisa Sturgill, and 3 grandchildren.
Calling Hours will be held Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at Durning, Bykowski & Young Funeral Home, 285 Manchester St., corner of Beech St. with a service to be held at 8 p.m.
Following cremation, burial will be at the convenience of the family.
