Wilma Beam Obituary

CHERRYVILLE — Mrs. Wilma London Beam, died Monday, June 6, 2005, at home.

Born in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Will L. London and Sara Alice Wright London. She retired after many years as an accountant. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Lola Allran Circle and Mae Harrelson Sunday School Class and was a lifetime member of United Methodist Women. She was a charter member of Blue Stocking Book Club and a member of United Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughters of the American Revolution, Eastern Star No. 156 and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was a former board member of Cherryville Chamber of Commerce.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. “Bob” Beam; a brother; and four sisters.

She is survived by a daughter, Alice Wyatt and husband, Lance, of Isle of Palms, S.C.; a grandson, Rob Wyatt of Atlanta; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Thursday, June 9, 2005, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Cherryville, NC, with the Rev. James Pyatt officiating. Burial will follow in City Memorial Cemetery, Cherryville, NC.

The family will receive friends at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home from 5:30 to 7:30 on Wednesday, June 8, 2005.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 601 Pink St., Cherryville, NC 28021.
