Mrs. Bertha Freeze Alexander, 80, of Statesville died Saturday evening at lredell Memorial Hospital.

She was born October 30, 1922 in lredell County and was the daughter of Quince L. and Fannie K. Plyler Freeze, who preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church as well as the American Legion Auxiliary and the United Methodist Women.

On September 1, 1951 she married Mr. Ross D. Alexander who died on August 19, 1986. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Troy and Albert Freeze and one sister, Mrs. Velma Wong.

Survivors include a grandson, Ben Tamer of Raleigh, N.C. and a sister, Mrs. Faye E. Waugh of San Diego, Calif. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11: 00 Tuesday at Shiloh United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Taylor officiating. The body will lie in state at the church for thirty minutes prior to the funeral hour and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will assemble at the residence of the deceased and will receive friends from 7: 00 until. 8:30 P.M. Monday evening at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Horne.
