Wilbur Clarence (Clell) Breining Jr., 81, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2010.
Clell was born in Electra, TX on Jan. 28, 1929, to Wilbur Clarence Breining Sr. (Hank) and Lelia Breining. As class President he graduated from Lefors High School in 1947, attended Texas Tech for a time, then entered the U.S. Army where he served during the Korean War and attained the rank of Master Sergeant. While attending The University of North Texas, he met Jane Beard Turner, and they were married in 1954. In 1956, he graduated from University of North Texas with a Masters degree in Psychology. Upon graduation, Mr. Breining began a career as a Professor at Lamar University in Beaumont Texas. Before retirement, Mr. Breining held a position as a psychologist for Jefferson Davis Parish School District in Louisiana.
Survivors include his brother Berry Breining, sister Becky Nunez, sons; Clell Breining and Barry Breining, daughters; Diana Flood and Lelia McCauley, grandchildren; Holly Grice, Stephanie Breining, Austin McCauley, Jessica Ribera, Julia Ribera, McCabe Breining. Many close friends and other family members also share in their loss.
His funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2010 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Rev. Ronnie Estes will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
