Robert Amadon Obituary

1940 - 2011
Robert S. Amadon, 70, of Nelson Lane, Rehoboth, a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed Wednesday, January 19, 2011 in Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Karen A. (Miles) Amadon.

Born in Franklin, New Hampshire on May 12, 1940, he was a son of the late Floyd and Margery (Doll) Amadon. Robert was educated in Franklin schools and graduated from the HVAC program at New England Tech as a steam boilerman and fireman. He served his country proudly as a member of the U. S. Navy.

Robert moved to Massachusetts in 1968. He worked for thirty five years as an HVAC technician at Sturdy Memorial Hospital until illness. Robert was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and fishing. He served as a Boy Scout leader years ago, where he enjoyed the Pinewood Derby each year.

In addition to his wife Karen, Robert is survived by three sons: Robert Amadon of North Attleboro, Russell Amadon of Spring, Texas, and Richard Amadon of Radcliff, Kentucky, two brothers: Floyd Amadon of Gardner, Maine, and Raymond Amadon of Hollis, Hew Hampshire, three sisters: Margery Kaefer of Hudson, Beverly Allen of Hollis, Hew Hampshire, and Beth Tomolonis of Nashua, New Hampshire, nine grandchildren: Emily Amadon, Amelia Amadon, Katie McQuaig, Meagan Amadon, Kayla Amadon, Gabrielle Amadon, Kassandra Silvestri, and Nicholas Silvestri, and Kylie Amadon.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. Robert will be laid to rest in Stevenís Corner Cemetery, Rehoboth, after a graveside service at a later date.
