1925 - 2005
RICHFORD – Lida B. Caples, age 80, passed away Tuesday November 8, 2005 surrounded by her loving family at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.

She was born May 10, 1925 in Montgomery the daughter of the late Martin & Irene (Ariel) Jewett.

Lida was a resident of Richford most of her life and was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. Lida was employed as a relief operator at Fonda Container for 10 years retiring in 1977. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities. She was also an avid Red Sox fan.

She is survived by her children, Cheryl Patterson and her husband Stephen of Richford, Martin Caples and his wife Kristi of Anderson, IN, Lenna Caples and her dear friend Brenda Smith of Hinsdale, NH, Charles “Chuck” Caples and his wife Lisa of Rochester, NY, Nancy Marston and her husband Mark of Richford, and Kelly Sanborn and her husband Steven of Roswell, NM; her grandchildren, Lori Shaw and her husband Jeff of Bernardston, MA, Jennifer O’Connell and her husband Sean of Colrain, MA, Clayton Caples and his wife Jennifer of Greenfield, MA, , Joseph Caples of Rutland, , Dana Patterson and his wife Jennifer of Andrews AFB, Washington DC, Holly Patterson and Tonya Pearson of Enosburg Falls, Monica Collins and her husband Steve and Travis & Heather Caples all of Anderson, IN, Riley & Tara Caples of Rochester, NY, Patrick & Christy Marston of Richford; her great grandchildren Kyle of Bernardston, MA, Jocelyn, Jasmine & Nellie of Colrain, MA, and & Lydia of Greenfield, MA; 1 sister, Carolyn Grubb and her husband George of Waterloo, Que.; 1 brother Carl Jewett and his wife Barbara of Burlington; a brother-in-law, Maurice Bogue of Warwick, RI; a sister-in-law, Juliette Jewett of Brattleboro; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Arnold Caples on October 18, 1997; they were married on December 15, 1940; 1 son, Roger Caples; 2 brothers, Martin Jewett Jr. and Samuel Jewett; 2 sisters, Olive Lewis and Orlina Bogue.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning November 11, 2005 at 11:00 at All Saints Catholic Church in Richford with Rev. Frank Eksterowicz celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment will be held at All Saints Cemetery at a later date.

A time of visitation will be held Friday morning from 9:45 to 10:45 at the Spears Funeral Home, 140 Main St. Richford.
