John B. Cardonnel
1929-2013 Mr. John B. Cardonnel, 83 of 2 Kathy Way died Tuesday January 15, 2013 at the Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Adams, on June 25, 1929 he was the son of the late John and Regina Lecuyer Cardonnel. He was a 1948 graduate of the former Adams High School and attended the former North Adams State College.
Mr. Cardonnel was employed by the General Electric Company for thirty-three years. He retired as manager of drafting and engineering documentation in the Large Transformer Dept.
He was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club and Pensioners and also served on the board of the Berkshire County Board of Realtors the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce and the Berkshire Housing Authority.
He and his wife, Penney, owned and operated Signature Associates Real Estate which they founded in 1993.
He was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He served from 1948 and was honorable discharged in 1952. He served in the Air Transport Squadron aboard an aircraft carrier for two and a half years.
Mr. Cardonnel was a computer enthusiast and an avid golfer. He enjoyed spending several winter months in Hilton Head South Carolina. He was well known for being able to repair anything that broke.
He would always make time to attend his grandchildren's sports events.
He enjoyed spending time with his loving family. His family was extremely precious to him.
He leaves his wife the former Penelope "Penney" Marcel whom he married May 7, 1983.
Four daughters Linda Rapoza of Pittsfield, Lisabeth Bradley (Eric Wilder) of Adams, Laurie Waluszko (Andrew) of Pittsfield and Jennifer J. Andrews (Anthony) of Adams, a son John (Chipper} Cardonnel and friend Terry Smacchetti of Adams, Eight grandchildren and Nine great- grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Mr. John B. Cardonnel, longtime Realtor, died Tuesday January 15. Funeral services will be Saturday January 19 at 2 p.m. at the DWYER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Christopher J. Waitekus, Pastor of St. Ann's Church in Lenox officiating.
Calling hours will be at the DWYER FUNERAL HOME ON Saturday from 12 noon until the 2 p.m. Service.
