Arlan Hildreth Obituary

Arlan Richard Hildreth, age 80, Underwood, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at the V.A. Medical Center in Omaha, Neb.

Arlan was born May 13, 1932, in Pisgah, Iowa, to Charles and Nina Cruise Hildreth. He served in the US Navy from 1950-1954, which included two years in Guam and a member of the Airedale's. Arlan was united in marriage to JoAnn Erixon on September 25, 1953, in San Diego, Calif., and to this union children Arla Jo, Chuck, Brad and Cliff were born. Arlan was the General Superintendent for the Scoular Company retiring in 1986. Memberships included Underwood Lutheran Church, American Legion and VFW. Arlan was a longtime volunteer for the Underwood Fire Department and was an avid golfer.

He is preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, JoAnn, of Underwood; daughter, Arla Jo Clausen and husband, Greg, of Underwood; sons, Chuck Hildreth and wife, Teresa, of Crescent, Iowa, Brad Hildreth and wife, Becky, Cliff Hildreth and wife, Pam, all of Council Bluffs; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren; brothers, Joe and wife, Dorothy, Royce and wife, Elaine, Bernard and wife, Doris; sisters, Janice Conery and Sandy Tucker; nieces and nephews.

Visitation Saturday, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., followed by funeral services at 3 p.m., all at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Dr. E.A. Hering, Officiant. Private interment at Fisher Cemetery, Underwood, at a later date. Luncheon will follow at the Elks Club, Council Bluffs.
