ADAMS, Frederick W. "Freddie," 74, of Mechanicsville, passed away May 11, 2013. He was preceded in death by his brother, Alton N. Adams. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Angela "Angie" Adams; his children, Mark Adams (Donna), David Adams (Denise); a sister-in- law, Mary Ann Adams; a sister, Lynda D. Cooke (George); two grandchildren, Jessica and Phillip; and numerous loving and caring nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Freddie was a veteran of the Virginia Army National Guard and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He was very active with the Masons and was Past Master of Sandston and Claremont Lodges. He was also a member of the Virginia High School League, where he was a football referee for 38 years. The family will receive friends at the Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Parkway, Mechancsville, Monday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., where a Masonic Service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Antioch Baptist Church, Sandston. Reception to follow. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Antioch Baptist Church, 103 East Williamsburg Road, Sandston.
