EDDINS, Winfred "Winnie," 98, of Culpeper, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at the Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community. Winnie was a well-loved member of the Culpeper community, serving in the Jaycees and Masonic Lodge, and was an active member and Treasurer of the Culpeper United Methodist Church for many years. He co-owned and operated the Nehi Bottling Company of Culpeper with his partner, Mac Thomas from 1948 to 1978. He was a founding member of the Country Club of Culpeper. Winnie was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Hitt Eddins and is survived by his three children, Cheryl Eddins Walker and her husband, Philip of Culpeper; Darlene Schrack Johnson and her husband, Mark of Alexandria; and Winfred "Eddie" Eddins Jr. and his wife, Julie of Richmond; grandchildren, Stephen Walker, Kevin Walker, Jason Walker, Jonathan Walker, Scott Schrack, Emily Schrack, Alison Eddins, and Hannah Eddins and great-grandchildren Tyler Walker, Michelle Walker, Jacob Walker, Bethany Walker, and Judah Walker. Winnie also leaves behind his close companion of six years, Rosemary Jarman of Ruckersville, Va. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22 at the Culpeper United Methodist Church with interment in the Culpeper Masonic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Clore-English Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 21.
