ABRAMSON, Joyce Taylor, 75, of Reston, Va., formerly of Nashville, Tenn., died Wednesday, August 14, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late Rudy Paulk Abramson of Cloverdale, Ala.; loving mother of Kristin Abramson of Washington, D.C. and Karin (Abramson) Bowles of Richmond, Va.; adored grandmother of Gibson, Whitt and Coleman Bowles; mother-in-law of Churchill Bowles of Richmond; cherished sister of Linda Rushing of Charlotte, N.C. and the late Paul O'Brien of Gainesville, Fla.; and daughter of the late Elizabeth and Jack O'Brien. Joyce was born and raised in Nashville, Tenn. and graduated from Vanderbilt University. She worked on Capitol Hill for Senator Albert Gore Sr. and Congressman Richard Fulton and met Rudy, a Washington correspondent for the Los Angeles Times. They raised their family in Northern Virginia. Family and friends will gather at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Florence, Ala. at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2013.
