Badalich, Steve M. age 84, passed away on September 6, 2013. He was an extraordinary father, devoted husband and loving grand- father. He is survived by his wife Gretchen, his children Jeff (Seana), Gregg (Kelly), Paul (Jane), Stephanie (Tim), Kevin (Joyce), Kim (Mike), John (Faerol), Kellie (Mike) and his 20 grandchildren. Steve hailed from South St. Paul, MN, made his home in Madison, WI, Minneapolis, MN, and Sarasota, FL. He was a founding member and all state goalie of the 1947 So. St. Paul HS hockey team, was drafted by the Brooklyn Dodgers, a Korean War Veteran, and a successful businessman with UW Provision Co. He was instrumental in building many youth hockey programs and rinks, and his philanthropy was recognized by the WI Hockey Hall of Fame, as well as other organizations. Always true to his principles and never wavering, "Beaver" was loved by many, respected by all, and will be greatly missed. Per his request, Steve will be buried with military honors with immediate family only present. There will be a celebration of life gathering in his honor at the Croatian Hall in SSP on Saturday, 9/14 from 11-3. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to South St. Paul Educational Foundation or Sharing and Caring Hands.
