Cleo Faye Draper, age 88, of Outing, Minn., died on August 17, 2013, at her home on Lake Lawrence, Wash.
He was born May 12, 1925, in Council Bluffs, to LaMoyne Daire and Ruth Francis (Ellicott) Farrell. Cleo received a degree in nursing from Clarkson Memorial Nursing College in 1945, practicing nursing for 36 years at Jennie Edmundson Medical Center in Council Bluffs. She married George William Hotchkiss in 1945 in Council Bluffs. She married William Leslie Draper on September 1, 1980, in Council Bluffs. Active in several community organizations, she served on the board of trustees for the then fledgling Iowa Western Community College. She retired to Outing, Minn., in 1981. An avid reader, she co-founded the wonderful little public library in Outing.
Preceding her in death are her parents, first husband, former Assistant Postmaster George Hotchkiss, in 1971; second husband, William Draper, in 1982; grandson, Shane Michael Jager, in 1968; great grandson, Carson Phillip Wilcox, in 2000; brother, Dennis Wayne Farrell in 2011; and dear daughter-in-law, Lisa Ann Thurston Hotchkiss, in 2012.
Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Joel Hotchkiss, of Austin, Texas and Mark and Kelley Hotchkiss, of Ogden, Utah; two daughters and son-in-law, Sue Kyner, of Outing, Minn. and Amy and Vic Plowman, of Council Bluffs; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
A private family service is being held. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby. Memorials suggested to Outing Volunteer Library, 6300 Woods Bay Rd., Outing, Minn., 56662.
