Albert Allamong Obituary

1919 - 2006
Albert R. Allamong, 86, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Tuesday, February 21, 2006 in a local nursing home.

Mr. Allamong was born April 17, 1919 in Hayfield, Virginia, the son of the late Edward C. and Martha Frye Allamong. He was a guard at Doubleday having retired in July of 1981. Mr. Allamong mowed Saint Johns, Saint Paul�s and Second Opequon Church Cemeteries and yards for thirty years with his good old John Deeres. He was a Veteran of World War II having served with the army achieving the rank of private.

He married Phyllis J. Brannon on November 25, 1947 in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Surviving with his wife of Winchester, Virginia are his daughters, Mary Grim Lowery of Frederick County, Virginia, Martha Allamong, of Seattle, Washington, and his son, Gary Allamong, of Frederick County, Virginia; ten grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. Five brothers, Harvey Allamong, Carson Allamong, Calvin Allamong, Robert Allamong, Howard Allamong, two half sisters, Mabel Perry and Ida Ware preceded him in death.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday at Saint John�s Lutheran Church Cemetery with David Owings officiating. Interment will be in Saint John�s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia.

Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, Winchester, Virginia.
