LEXINGTON%%Funeral services for Austin Nathaniel Abbott, 77, of Lexington will be held at 10am Monday, June 19, 2006, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, conducted by Rev. Ed. Lynch and Pastor Ralph Schneck. Mr. Abbott will be in the Chapel prior to service at 9am. Burial will be held at 4pm at Lewis Cemetery, Bladenboro, North Carolina. The family will receives friends from 5-7pm Sunday at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington.
Mr. Abbott died Thursday, June 15, 2006. Born in Richmond Co, N.C., he was the son of the late William Cordy and Lettie Kinlaw Abbott. He was formerly of Bladenboro, NC, and had been a local resident here for the past 53 years. Mr. Abbott was owner and operator of Economy TV Sales and Service, and was a member of Butters Baptist Church in Butters, NC. Mr. Abbott was a U. S. Army veteran during the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Jo Abbott of Lexington; daughter, GiGi Davis of Lexington; sister and brother-in-law, Nina and Charles Davenport of Taylors, SC; two grandchildren, CiJi Williams and Dustin Davis; one great-grandchild, Van Williams all of Lexington; and numerous nieces and nephews, special niece Donna Nunnally.
Mr. Abbott was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
