Roy Aldrich Obituary

1915 - 2006
Wilmot, NH-Roy F. Aldrich, 90, of 115 Village Road, died Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at The Clough Center in New London. He was born in Rochester, VT on August 12, 1915 the son of Gardner R. and Mabel I. (Powers) Aldrich. He lived in VT from 1922-1924 and then moved to Beech Hill Road in Andover. He lived on Halcyon Hill Farm in East Andover before moving to Wilmot Flat in 1932. Mr. Aldrich moved to Marlborough, MA from 1943-1952 and then back to Wilmot. He was a carpenter and years ago worked for Jed Prescott building and improving many area homes. Then he became self employed and worked throughout the area. He was a member and elder of the Wilmot Flat Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Mr. Aldrich was a member of the Franklin Rifle Club and the Wilmot Volunteer Fire Department. His wife of 59 years, Hilda L. (Crouse) Aldrich, died in 1996. He is survived by a son and his wife, Nelson H. and Sandra Aldrich of Newport, NH; a grandson and wife, C. Hank and Kim Ann Aldrich and their daughter, Ashley Anna Aldrich of Wessling, Germany; a sister and husband, Barbara and Richard Sullivan of Loudon, NH; and a nephew considered a son and his wife, David and Sheree Miller and their children, Jeff and Brandee of Andover, NH. A memorial service will be held at Mr. Aldrich's home, 115 Village Road, Wilmot, NH on Monday, July 3, 2006 at 10:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lake Sunapee Region Visiting Nurse Association, P.O. Box 2209, New London, NH 03257, the Wilmot Flat Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, P.O. Box 13, Wilmot, NH 03287, Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1263, New London, NH 03257 or to the charity of one's choice. Chadwick Funeral Service of New London, NH is in charge of arrangements.
