Hector Brown Obituary

1935 - 2006
ENOSBURG FALLS – Hector T. Brown, age 71, passed away Monday evening August 28, 2006 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.

He was born July 20, 1935 in Enosburgh, VT the son of the late Alton & Alice (Lacross) Brown.

Hector served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959. Following his honorable discharge he owned and operated a dairy farm in Fairfield until 1967 at which time he became the owner and operator of Brown’s ABC Market in Fairfield and then in 1978 Brown’s Hardware in Richford. Following his retirement from the stores he drove truck for McDermott’s Trucking for several years. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Enosburg Falls and was a former member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fairfield where he served on the pastoral board and also served as head usher for 26 years. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #42 of Enosburg Falls and the Knights of Columbus

He is survived by his wife, Denise (Brodeur) Hoadley - Brown of Enosburg Falls; his children, Kenneth Brown and his wife Elizabeth of Richford, Roxane Bender and her husband Mark of Severna Park, MD, Rick Brown of Fairfield, Melissa Norton and her husband Tim of Essex; Three grandchildren, Christopher Brown, Devin & Nikki Norton; a brother, Roger Brown of Ledyard, CT; Denise’s children, Sarah Jewett and her husband Fred, Lynn Raymond and her husband Scott, Karen Allen and her husband Joe, and Kelley Hoadley all of Berkshire; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife, Yvonne (Gervais) Brown on Nov.17, 1995; and a sister, Shirley Bilodeau.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning September 1, 2006 at 11:00 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Enosburg Falls with Rev. Benedist Kiely celebrating the mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
