BERKSHIRE – Alice M. Fletcher, age 78, passed away peacefully after a long illness with congestive heart failure at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans on Sunday February 15, 2004.
She was born January 3, 1926 in Richford Center, VT on the family farm. She was the daughter of Alson B. Fletcher and Linnie A. (Fletcher) Fletcher.
She attended school in Richford, and was a 4-H club member and State Delegate in the All Girls Clothing Record to the National 4-H Club Congress in Chicago, IL in 1946.
She was a former member of the local, state and national grange. And was a former member of the Rebekah Lodge. She was a member of the Richford United Methodist Church. She had a very strong faith and a very positive outlook in life to the end.
She was a caregiver for her parents and her older sister, always with a smile.
She was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Dr. Arwin F.B.G. Sexauer; and 4 brothers-in-law.
She is survived by 1 sister, Maxine A. Lumbra of Berkshire, whom she made her home with for the past 10 years; 1 niece, Dawn Mennucci and her husband John of Pawtucket, RI; 1 nephew, Alson Bashaw and his wife Marilyn of Dade City, FL; she also leaves 5 grand nieces; and six great grand nieces and nephews; several cousins and close friends.
In keeping with her wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral services at this time. A graveside memorial service will be held next spring in the Richford Center Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
