Ralph Barnes, 82, of Minerva, died Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at Alliance Community Hospital following a long illness. Born in Canalou, Missouri, July 16, 1921, he was the son of the late Donald and Clea (Morrow) Barnes. He was a retired dairy worker, having worked for Lawson's Dairy.

He is survived by his wife Edith Marie (Willey) Barnes, sons and daughters-in-law Jeffrey L. and Wendy Barnes of Ocala, FL., Dwight A. and Geri Barnes of Minerva, daughter Julie DeAssis of Canton, sister Gwen Hawk of Georgia, grandchildren Michael (Evelyn) Barnes, Tracy (Peter) Oliver, Terri (Blake) Berreger all of Canada, Lisa (Greg) Athey of Hartville, John (Ruth) Barnes of Garrettsville and great-grandchildren Christopher and Caitlin Barnes and Baby Berreger all of Canada, several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by sister Ann Brubacher.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004 from 2-4pm, at the Bartley Funeral Home in Minerva, with funeral services at 4:00pm. Following cremation, burial will be in Hillside Memorial Park in Akron. Friends unable to attend may register online at our website www.bartleyfuneralhome.com.
