Dionisia F. Aguiar, 90, of Palm Street, Attleboro, a retired textile worker, died Thursday, April 1, 2004 at the LifeCare Center of Attleboro. She was the wife of the late Jose M. Aguiar, Sr. who died in 1987.
Born in Sao Miguel, Azores on August 26, 1913, Mrs. Aguiar was a daughter of the late Joao F. and Margarida de Jesus (Furtado) Martins.
Mrs. Aguiar settled in Woonsocket, RI from the Azores in 1963 and resided in Attleboro since 1977. Years ago Mrs. Aguiar was employed in several Textile Mills in Woonsocket, RI and retired in 1972.
She was a communicant of Holy Ghost Church in Attleboro and had a special devotion to Our Lady of Fatima.
Mrs. Aguiar is survived by two sons: John M. Aguiar of Woonsocket, RI and Jose M. Aguiar, Jr. of Attleboro; four grandchildren: Debra Aguiar,
Christine Moran, Kimberly Pristawa and Kristopher Aguiar; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the grandmother of the late Joann Aguiar and sister of the late Manuel Martins, Jose Martins, Mariano Martins and Erena Martins.
A funeral will be held on Monday, April 5, 2004 at 9:00 AM from the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Holy Ghost Church, 71 Linden Street, Attleboro.
Burial will follow in St. Johnís Cemetery, West Street, Attleboro.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, April 4th from 4:00 PM ~ 8:00 PM in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro, MA.
