Carroll Bashaw Obituary

1925 - 2004
ORANGE CITY, FL / ENOSBURG FALLS, VT Ė Carroll S. Bashaw, age 79 passed away Saturday May 22, 2004 at his home in Orange City. He was born May 11, 1925 in Richford the son of the late Henry N. & Mary H. (Sears) Bashaw.

Carroll was a resident of Enosburg Falls and Richford most of his life and was a 1943 graduate of Richford High School. He was employed at the Missisquoi Pulp Mill for 41 years retiring in 1987 at which time he made his home in Orange City in the winter and Lake Carmi in the summer. Following his retirement he worked as the starter at the Enosburg Falls Country Club and at the Publix Grocery Store in Orange City. He was a member of St. Annís Catholic Church in Debary, FL. Carroll was an avid bowler and had belonged to several bowling leagues at the Dairy Center in Enosburg Falls. He also enjoyed square dancing in Vermont & Florida. He served on the Board of the Missisquoi Little League in the early 1960ís.

He is survived by his wife Audrey (Lothian) Bashaw of Orange City, FL, they were married October 15, 1946; 2 sons, Michael Bashaw and his companion Sharon Chun of Hillsborough, NC, and Keith Bashaw and his wife, Laurie of Williston; a daughter, Bonnie Bashaw - Cole and her husband Kevin of St. Johnsbury; 8 grandchildren, Travis Bashaw and his wife Stacey, Damon & Ashley Bashaw, Justin, Tucker & Katelyn Bashaw, and Andrea & Ben Cole; a brother and his wife, Aubrey & Marie Bashaw of East Windsor, CT; a sister, Faye Edwards of Enfield, CT; a brother-in-law, Hayden Janes of Richford; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a sister, Mavis Janes.

Funeral services will be held Saturday May 29, 2004 at 11:00 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Enosburg Falls with Rev. Benedict Kiely celebrating the mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 5-8 pm at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave, Enosburg Falls.
