James Franklin Abercrombie, 70, of 6184 Hwy 92, died Sunday, June 20, 2004 at Laurens County Hospital.
A native of Laurens County, he was the son of the late Raymond H. and Elizabeth Simmons Abercrombie.
He was a member of Bramlett United Methodist Church and the V.F.W.
Mr. Abercrombie retired after 30 years of service from the United States Marine Corp. having served during the Korean Conflict and in Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife, June L. Alden Abercrombie of the home

Curtis Gothard, of Shelby, N.C.

three sisters, Mary Manly of Gray Court

Faye Arnold of Woodruff
Five grandchildren and one step-great granddaughter also survive him.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2004, at Lanford Funeral Home prior to the 3:00 p.m. funeral service in the chapel conducted by Rev. Dane Morehead.
