CAYCE-Services for Buren “Al” Albertson, 75, of Cayce, will be held at 2pm Saturday in Holland Avenue Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Charles Wilson, with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be the Berea Sunday School Class. Memorials may be made to Holland Avenue Baptist Church c/o Music Ministry or the American Heart Association.
Mr. Albertson died Thursday, September 2, 2004. Born in Kenansville, NC, he was the son of the late George Newkirk and Emma Susan Miller Albertson. Mr. Albertson had retired from the United States Air Force after 24 years of service. He had been a resident here for the past 36 years and had retired from the City of Columbia. Mr. Albertson was a member of Holland Avenue Baptist Church, where he was very active in the different aspects of church life, also he loved to listen to gospel music. Mr. Albertston loved his wife and family more than words can say. He was the adopted grandfather of the wait staff at Ruby Tuesday’s on U.S. Hwy #1, and he loved to work in his workshop.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Sylvia Albertston of Cayce; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and David Cole of Rock Hill, and Nancy and Mark Peabody of West Columbia; son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Don and Lori Albertson of Summerville; sister and brother-in-law, Velma and Raymond Kennedy of Stedman; five grandchildren, Matt Cole, Justin Cole, Marisa Peabody, Grace Peabody, and Hannah Lily Albertson; Mr. Albertson was predeceased by six siblings.
