Barbara Annis Obituary

1978 - 2005
Barbara Ann Annis, 26, of Irasburg, passed away suddenly in Newport on Thursday, January 13, 2005.

She was born in Warwick, Rhode Island on April 8, 1978, the daughter of Nancy (Courtney) Lemois and the late Brien Paul Lemois Sr. Barbara attended three years at CCV and was planning on completing her teaching degree. She worked as a substitute teacher at the Barton Grade School. She was an artist and enjoyed painting on wood. She loved spending time with her children, and also enjoyed reading to them, doing crafts, and drawing.

On August 2, 1997 Barbara married Robert Annis Sr., who survives her. She is also survived by her sons, Robert Jr., Francis Daniel, Jospeh Shamus, and newborn Thomas Keegan, her mother, Nancy Lemois of Irasburg, her brother, Brien Lemois Jr. and his fiancée Laura Burton of Orleans, her brother-in-law, Elwin Annis Jr. of Irasburg, her paternal grandfather, Norman Lemois of Warwick, Rhode Island, her uncles, James Courtney Jr. and his wife Linda of Warwick, Rhode Island, and Robert Lemois of Pennsylvania, and many cousins. She was predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Marion Courtney in 1995, her maternal grandfather, James Courtney in 1998, and her paternal grandmother, Lorraine Lemois.

Friends may call at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Memorial Chapel, 37 Lake Road, Newport (formerly Sias Ave.) on Tuesday, January 18 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Parking and easy ramped entrance in rear of funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 19 at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Newport at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Yvon Royer officiating. Spring interment will follow at the Irasburg cemetery.
