1948 - 2005
SHELBY — Mr. Tony Reid Anthony, 56, of 4011 Polkville Road, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, at his residence.

Born in Cleveland County, on Dec. 23, 1948, he was the son of the late Arthur Pinkney Anthony and Katie Neal Anthony. Tony retired from the Air Force as a technical sergeant and FMC Lithium of Bessemer City. During his career in the Air Force and at FMC Lithium, he worked with their fire prevention programs.

He was preceded in death by his a brother, Bobby Anthony and a sister, Marjorie Gates.

He is survived by his wife, Becki Anthony of the home; four daughters and sons-in-law, Bobbi Jo and Tim Roseboro of Delaware, Mary “Katie” and Keith Swaney of Kings Mountain, Tonia and Tony Brown and Tonie and Scott Jeter; two stepdaughters and a stepson-in-law, Renee and John Fortenberry of Lawndale and Ashley Bridges of the home; a brother, William P. Anthony of Kings Mountain; a sister, Cornelia and Jack Eaker of Kings Mountain; seven grandchildren, Kayla Day, Kateland Day, Christian Roseboro, Brevin Roseboro, Tony Reid Swaney, Trevior Swaney and Tegan Joshua Swaney.

The funeral will be Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, at 7 p.m. at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Shumate officiating.

Visitation will be Monday one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home. A guest register is available at www.stameyfuneralhome.com.
