Lucy Aldridge Obituary

MYRTLE BEACH%%Services for Lucy Long Aldridge, 83, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2007 State Street Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Nathan Brown and Rev. Dr. Tommy Pillow, with interment to follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Brandon Seboe, Bradley Brown, Shaun Wolfe, Darryl Wolfe, Joe Corley and Henry Cumbie, Jr.. Honorary Pallbearers are members of the ABC Sunday School Class. Memorials may be made to the Dr. Jimmy Quinn Memorial Fund – C\o State Street Baptist Church, 1420 State Street, West Columbia, SC, 29169.

Mrs. Aldridge, widow of the late Marshall Settles Aldridge, died on Wednesday, February 28, 2007. Born in Monroe, NC, she was the daughter of the late Zeb Vance and Lillie Haigler Long. Formerly of Cayce, a member of State Street Baptist Church, and the ABC Sunday School Class, she was a beloved area resident of Myrtle Beach since 2005. She was a dedicated homemaker and owned her own home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Her homemade biscuits and chicken and dumplings will be greatly missed as well!

Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Betty A. and Carl Wolfe of Cayce, Teresa A. and Henry Cumbie of Myrtle Beach; Son and daughter-in-law, Charles “Sammy” and Martha Aldridge of West Columbia; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren; and dearest friend, Sarah Pless.

Mrs. Aldridge was predeceased by her husband, Marshall Settles Aldridge, sister, Beaulah Victory, and brother, Charles Long.
