Grady M. Blankenship, 79, of 244 East Memorial Highway, Harmony, passed away at his home on March 10, 2007.
He was born July 5, 1927 in Iredell County and was the son of the late W.
Glenn and Viola Triplett Blankenship. He was a graduate of Southern College of Watchmaking in Menphis, Tn. and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He ran a watch repair and jewelry shop for years.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Polly Daniels Blankenship Also by a son Tony Blankenship of China Grove, and a daughter Kathy B. Hand and her husband Frank of Albuquerque, N.M.
two grandsons Jason Hand and his wife Amanda of Phoenix, Az, and Darren Hand of Honolulu, Hi., a brother, Richard Blankenship of Statesville, and two sisters, Elva Holton of Granite Quarry and Bonnie Brown of China Grove.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Harmony City Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Shane Page.
There will be no formal visitation, whoever the family will speak with friends following the graveside service at the cemetery.
