Concord, NH-Kathleen (Farnum) Aldrich, 79, of Christian Ave., died Sunday, March 16, 2003 at the Concord Hospital. She was born on April 17, 1923 in New London, NH the daughter of Herbert Oscar and Vera May (MacFarland) Farnum. She attended schools in Penacook, New London and graduated from Penacook High School, got her Bachelor of Education Degree from Keene Teachers' College, and Master of Education from the University of NH. She taughte in elementary schools in Walpole, Rye, and Salem, NH for 13 years, then was a reading and testing specialist in the Salem School District for 10 years before retiring. Mrs. Aldrich was a member of the Presbyterian Church, A.A.U.W., A.A.R.P., and the NH Retired Teachers' Association. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Andrew Alexander and Pamela Aldrich of Salem, NH; a brother, Hurbert Oscar Farnum of Pinellas Park, FL; four cousins, three nephews, and one niece. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. at The First Baptist Church of New London, NH with The Rev. Richard W. Dutton, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elkins Cemetery, Elkins, NH in the spring. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Tinnitus Association, P.O. Box 5, Portland, OR 97207.
