Ruth Anderson Obituary

1914 - 2007
New London, NH-Ruth (Neeld) Baisler Anderson, 92, of Woodcrest Village, died Wed., May 16, 2007 at The Clough Center in New London.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on August 6, 1914 the daughter of Charles M. and Alice (McNeilly) Neeld, she spent her early years in Pittsburgh and received a teaching degree from Muskingum College in New Concord, OH. Mrs. Anderson also took classes at the University of Pittsburgh and received a bachelor's degree from the State University of NY at Cortland. She taught elementary school in Chester, WV and Cortland, NY. She and her husband of 56 years, Albert W. Baisler who died in 1993, made their home in New Concord, Columbus, Cortland, NY, Jamestown, NY, Bronxville, NY and then OH. Mrs. Anderson was active in TWIG, faculty wives, the hospital guild, and other volunteer organizations. Her husband, Dr. Homer A. Anderson, died in 2002. She moved to New London, NH in 2005 and was a member of The First Baptist Church of New London. Her family was especially important to her, she was an avid reader, bridge player, traveler, and beloved friend of many. Her daughter, Patricia VanAmberg Butare, died in 1997 and she was also predeceased by two grandsons, Christopher VanAmberg and Geoffrey Grogan. Members of her family surviving include two daughters, Mary Doyle of New London, NH and Linda Grogan Weeks of Eugene, OR; four grandchildren, S. Bradford Doyle of RI, Jonathan M. Doyle of MA, Joel VanAmberg of TN, and Heather Grogan of OR; seven great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A service will be held at College Drive Church, New Concord, OH on July 14, 2007. Burial will be in New Concord, Cemetery, New Concord, OH. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Muskingum College, 163 Stormont Street, New Concord, OH 43762-1199 or to The First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 336, New London, NH 03257.
