Maurice Bedard Obituary

1925 - 2007
Maurice J. Bedard, 82, died Thursday, May 24, 2007 at his home following a long period of failing health.

Mr. Bedard was born in Rochester on March 3, 1925, the son of Arthur and Isolla (Dubois) Bedard and lived most of his life in Rochester. Prior to his retirement he worked as a rigger at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and served in the US Navy during WWII period. He was a member of the Club Victoire, a member and past commander of the Rochester VFW, a member of the Rochester American Legion and a member of the Rochester Elks. He was a former Scout Master with The boy Scouts of America. He was predeceased by a brother Raynold Bedard and by a sister Cecile Beaudoin.

Surviving members of the family include: his wife, Gladys Bedard of Rochester, three sons, Arthur Bedard and his wife Danielle of Pike, NH, Maurice Bedard Jr. of California, David Bedard and his wife Clara of East Lebanon ME, three daughters, Marie Thibodeau of Rochester, Diane Smith and her husband David of Tilton, NH, and Cynthia Clark and her husband Walter of east Lebanon, ME, his step-children, David Smith and his wife Freda of Rochester, Eric Smith and his wife Joy of New Durham, NH, Gary Smith and his wife Jayne of Plymouth, ME, Roxanne Landry and her husband William of Rochester, Valarie Garrett and her husband Gary of Middleton, NH, Brian Smith and his wife Cynthia of New Durham, NH, Scott Smith of Middleton, NH, Sharon Shufelf and her husband Theodore of North Berwick, ME, and Pauline Small and her husband Dale of Plymouth, ME. He also leaves three sisters, Yvette Allard of Florida, Jeannette Richardson and her husband Chester of Dover, NH, and Jacqueline Bedard of Florida, as well as many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held at the H. J. Grondin & Son Funeral Home, 177 North Main Street, Rochester, NH on Monday from 2 4 and 6 8 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Tuesday at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 189 North Main Street, Rochester, NH, folloed by burial in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Cemetery. To sign the on-line guest book go to www.GrondinFunerlHome.com.
